Pursuant to an article in caravancampingsales.com.au, many caravans that are presented as being “off-road” are a far cry from being so. This is an issue since the BDO Caravan and Campervan Data Report released in December 2015 speaks of no less than 528,210 registered vans. Today, the number is much higher, and any of these owners could have been tricked into buying a fake off-road caravan.
Caravan Finance Guide
Recent research by BDO, showcased by Caravan Industry, informs us that there are almost 600,000 caravans registered in Australia. 73% of the Aussies choose to go caravanning on order to see the country, and most of them are middle-aged people. It is to no one’s surprise, however, since it is a fantastic way of getting some much-needed relaxation and peace of mind.
You may be surprised to hear that most Aussies actually prefer to caravan on their own. Even more dazzling is that you may find more Aussie women travelling alone than men – as of 2015, 81% of females wished to go solo on the road, according to the Global Women’s Travel Survey. Caravanning alone can be soothing, but having such a road trip in a group can be more fun.
The Safety Statistics provided by the Australian Government shows that until November 2016, the provisional number of road fatalities was 1,185. Thus, road deaths registered a growth of 6.8% from November 2015. Last year, the Australian press was oversaturated with horrifying caravan accidents.
Aussies are keen on caravanning and camping, as 85% of the Australian population had such an experience and would recommend it to other people, as well. In fact, according to a 2011 study, these activities promote a happier family life, and an individual who goes on caravan trips or camping often is more optimistic, energised and satisfied. But a pertinent question comes up:
Travelling with friends is growing in popularity, more than ever. According to statistics, many individuals plan their holidays with friends. Even though motor homing is a traditional form of travelling for families, it appears that the trend is conquering more segments of the population. And it doesn’t surprise us.
Certainly, one of the best things about caravanning is that such a vacation brings out the best in you, proving how self-sufficient you can be. If you’re eager to plan some camping trips as well, this will make your vacation even more adventurous.
